Imagine walking around with only the ability to see
shapes and light… This is
how Rolo lives everyday of his life, but it wasn’t always so.
Rolo, a 2-year old Fox Terrier, was rescued from a very high-kill

Update (07.09.08): Rolo is continuing to do well. His eye is healing at a rate that is very pleasing to his doctor. We are almost out of funds to pay for his recovery; we hope he doesn't require many more visits. Thank you for all your help!
Update (06.21.08): Happy first day of Summer! Rolo continues to heal very well and all signs indicate he will have sight in the eye where our vet performed surgery. His post operative care continues to be very expensive and time consuming. Please consider donating to he continue care. Thanks to all that helped Rolo regain sight!
Update (06.02.08): Rolo is recovering well and seeing the vet regularly for post operative care. We will continue to post his progress toward sight.
Update (05.29.08): Rolo's eye surgery occurred on Tuesday. The operation was a success and went according to the doctor's plan. His is recovering now and involved in lengthy post operative care - this care could get expensive if there are unforeseen complications. Thanks to all that helped us Rolo get to surgery!
UPDATE (05.25.08): Rolo goes to surgery tomorrow (05.27.08)! We are so close to reaching our goal to completely cover his medical expenses and save his sight. If you can help, please do so as Tara's House does not have the financial resources to correct his condition.
UPDATE (05.15.08): Rolo saw Dr. Smith today. He said the whites of his eyes and conjunctivas are just where they are suppose to be and to keep up with the same meds until pre op time, than give the pre op routine, however, he has developed adhesions in both eyes, so that means the chance of placing an artificial lens in any eye has decreased. Dr. Smith is going to evaluate whether or not to place the artificial lens in the better eye on the day of surgery If he gets the lens there is more chance that he will develop the same inflammations we already treated, so he may need the current eye meds everyday for life. If he does not get the lens than it is more likely that he may not need lifelong treatment as time passes. The lens is good though, if he can put it in, because he will have 20/20 vision in that one eye. It is just a matter of controlling the inflammation. Also, some small cyst are visible, they look like brown dots, Dr. Smith said they will break down and hopefully when they break they will not cause more adhesions. Right now he is comfortable, energetic, and happy , even though he squints and runs into things - Thanks so much for contributing to his care and treatment!
UPDATE (05.09.08): Rolo's eye complication is clearing up thanks to a fast diagnosis and treatment. Everything is currently very positive and he is scheduled for surgery on May 27, 2008. Continue to wish him luck! Thank you for your support, we still need more donations to cover his entire treatment to regain his sight.
UPDATE (5.03.08): Rolo's surgery will have to be delayed
because of a new complication with his eyes. He is currently undergoing
treatment to prepare his eyes for surgery.
