Donations To: All Our Animal Loving Friends To help the hundreds of abandoned and homeless dogs in Louisiana, a friend of ours that helps transport rescued dachshunds to Maryland has decided to open a shelter for abandoned and abused dogs. She has applied for 501c3 status to open The Humane Society of Louisiana in Start, LA. Our friend, Casey, has done more for dogs than you can imagine with no support at all. THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! We are trying to collect dog supplies (crates, beds, blankets, towels, leashes, collars, food bowls, dog/cat food, etc) to give to her when she travels to MD to transport dogs to us. If you or anyone you know has dog supplies (new or used) that you can donate, we would be most grateful. If you'd rather give a monetary donation please make a check payable to The Humane Society of Louisiana, Delta Chapter, and mail it to P.O. Box 5, Start, LA 71279. We are collecting supplies in Olney, Annapolis, and Glen Burnie, MD. There is no deadline for collecting items as rescue continues 24/7, but we would love to give her some supplies when she travels to MD in December and January as a way of saying "Happy Holidays". Please let me know if you have any supplies and if you can drop them off in either Olney, Annapolis or Glen Burnie. Thanks!!! Stormy Chinchilla Meet Stormy: an eight year old sweet and loving Grey Chinchilla. I rescued Stormy in December from a home where children used to tease him and shoot him with water guns. If you know anything about chinchillas, they despise water! The sad thing is Stormy was given to the children by their next door neighbor who’s actively involved in chinchilla rescue. I’ll leave the names out. I have tried for several months to introduce Stormy to my other chinchillas, but unfortunately, they cannot coexist. Stormy prefers to be alone because that’s what he’s used to. I’m truly saddened I have to find Stormy another home! If anyone could give Stormy the home he so deserves, please let me know. The new home needs to be dedicated to giving him lots of time and attention. He needs daily exercise and weekly dust baths. He wants to be with people and loves to be held. Older children will be fine - he holds no grudges towards anyone. As you can see from the picture, he’s a lover! I’m not asking for any money. I just want him to be happy. Additionally, his new adopters must come highly recommended. I’m willing to let someone adopt who’s a first time chinchilla owner, but they must be educated about chinchilla care before they adopt him. It takes a lot of time and care to provide chinchillas with the right environment. They are extremely fragile and can die from simple mistakes. Thanks for your consideration and please email me anytime with questions. Michele Tibbo [mtibbo@comcast.net] |

Bonnie and Clyde Bassett Hound Bonnie and her brother, Clyde, are "foreclosure dogs". Their owner lost their home and was forced to give them up. Bonnie is a typical Basset. Very mellow temperament and she loves everyone, especially children. Bonnie likes other dogs too. Bonnie is one year old and weighs approx. 55 lbs. Bonnie has two beautiful blue eyes and is red and white in color. Clyde and his sister, Bonnie, are "foreclosure dogs". They lost their home when their house was foreclosed upon. Clyde is a very long Basset. He has the body of a school bus! He's a real sweetheart and loves to give kisses to any willing recipient. Clyde is tri-color and has one blue eye and one brown eye. He's one year old and probably weighs around 70 lbs. He's a healthy weight, but again, very long for a Basset. Clyde loves all people and other dogs and is an easygoing, laid back, guy. If interested in adopting one or both bassetts, please contact Sara at info@happywhiskers.org |

Louie American Pit Bull Terrier Mix Hi. My name is Louie and I am an American Pit Bull Terrier mix. I was in a shelter in Virginia for a long time until my foster family saw me and said they could not resist my soulful eyes. They are always bragging about what a good boy I am. I like other dogs, walk well on a leash and I’m housetrained! I love to go for walks & run after my toy kong but belly rubs are my favorite! I’ve been neutered and have all my shots. If you’d like to give me a fur-ever home please email pandabear631@comcast.net to request an adoption application. All adoptions are contingent on a home evaluation, an adoption donation of $175 & an adoption care giver agreement. |

Marshmellow Dear Cat People: Marshmellow is an adorable part seal point Siamese kitten who adopted us in January. She is about 10 to 12 months old and has bright blue eyes and the most loving personality. We got her spayed, shots and feline leukemia test and have been loving her all through the winter and spring. We want to find her the perfect home as an only cat or with one companion. She is free to a loving home and we will give you her vet records. Please call Kari and Rich at 410-662-4676 or reply to this email to get in touch. THANK YOU!!!
