Dear Tara’s House Supporters and Friends,

High gas prices. Canceled summer vacations. Scores of homes in foreclosure. Rising food costs. Area families facing difficult times are making tough choices not only about whether they can keep their homes, but also where they will enjoy the summer sunshine and reconnect as a family. At the same time, many are abandoning their pets by turning to rescues or surrendering them to shelters across the country in record numbers. Many simply no longer have the means to care for their dogs, cats, bunnies and other animals they way they deserve.

Tara’s House is swamped with email pleads every day from shelters, rescues and concerned pet owners to accept unwanted pets. Our collective heart breaks every time we need to turn down an offer because we too are feeling the affects of the sluggish economy. Our veterinarian and transport costs are sky rocketing. Dog food prices have increased while the amount in the bags has decreased. Donations have stopped all together and adoptions are at all time lows. As a result, we cannot meet the demand for our rescue services and we are certain many pets are not finding new homes without our help.

To help the dogs that are in the greatest need, we are turning to you for help and generosity. We all have tough decisions to make currently, but please consider supporting Tara’s House so we can meet the demand and save the lives of those abandoned dogs who want nothing more than to go home. We offer many ways for pet lovers like you to support us that allow you to choose what works best for your.

Consider any of the following ways to create positive futures for more dogs:

Sponsorships – Fund LOVE by contributing to the medical and daily care of a specific dog at Tara’s House.

Wish List – Help our dogs and foster homes provide for daily needs by donating the supplies needed to care for our charges.

Donations – Your cash contributions will help to make up the gap between adoption fees and operational costs – even a small amount of $10.00 will go a long way to help our dogs. We offer one-time and reoccurring donations to suit your giving needs.

Endowments & Medical Emergency Funds – Want to show your commitment to Tara’s House and animal rescue in general? Consider establishing an Endowment or Medical Emergency Fund with Tara’s House. These special donation categories, Endowments and Medical Emergency Funds, help us manage the unexpected cases that arise periodically throughout the year – as we choose our dogs based on greatest need and not solely on adoptability as other area rescues.
