Are you working on your New Year's Resolutions?  Want to help those who cannot help themselves?  Tara's House has the perfect New Year's Resolution for you, and it is one that you can keep!

Considering making your 2010 New Year's Resolution to help rescued pups find new homes and Tara's House grant second chances.  We need donations to help with routine medical care, surgeries, dog transport, monthly prevention treatments, food, leashes, collars and toys. 

We have options to help Taz recover from being found starving and hit by a car to helping all of our dogs find happiness through one time or monthly contributions.  All pledges will receive a special New Year's Resolution Certificate <more>

Our monthly adoption events are a great way to meet our adoptable pets and learn about our rescue!  Check our Events page for all the details.

  • We are a high-placement, non-profit animal rescue.
  • We serve the Washington DC Metro Area.
  • We operate as a 'virtual' shelter to keep our operational costs low so we can rescue and place more dogs annually.
  • Our dogs are rescued from high-kill shelters located throughout West Virginia and other areas of concern.
  • We operate without government assistance, relying solely on donations and our adoptions fees to cover our operations.
  • We rescue and adopt approximately 300 dogs annually.
  • We hold monthly adoptions shows for you to meet our amazing dogs.
